All your system‘s fles will be sorted by O&O Defrag 12 according to their level of use, and each one will be separated into its own section of the hard disk. Thanks to the division into drive zones, all fles are rearranged optimally after the defragmentation. O&O Defrag 12 introduces 3 new defragmentation methods, which work perfectly in combination with the previous methods. All of this will allow you to start your computer and its programs faster than before, and actually prevent any sudden
increase in fragmentation. In addition, subsequent defragmentation will run much faster. Zone fling can also be supplemented by a user defned classifcation of fles.
Drive zones
Data is inspected according to set criteria, and then fled into separate zones on the hard disk. Once the defragmentation is completed, a special algorithm organizes the data optimally onto the disk. System fles which have to be accessed quickly, for example, will be separated from the rest. Between the zones there is free space so that new fles can be immediately moved to the correct zone. This logical organization considerably reduces the time needed for any future defragmentation, and also prevents new fragmentation from occurring in the frst place.
Background monitoring
Thanks to O&O Defrag’s new background monitoring, it’s now possible to prevent fragmentation at its source. Newly added or modifed fles are inspected and defragmented whenever they are not being accessed. This is how O&O Defrag makes sure, behind the scenes, that your hard disk is constantly performing at its best.
Manage O&O Defrag in the network
Together with the O&O Enterprise Management Console makes it’s possible to manage O&O Defrag from just one central location within the network. You’ll not only be able to run defragmentation jobs on individual computers and sites, but also install O&O Defrag from remote. All jobs and events are recorded in detailed reports, and stored in the database of the O&O Enterprise Management Console. As a result, you are always kept informed about the success of any jobs executed.
Keep on working during a defragmentation
O&O Defrag is the only defragmentation software that features O&O ActiveGuard Pro. It periodically monitors capacity levels during a defragmentation. As soon your computer needs resources for performing other functions, O&O ActiveGuard Pro reduces the resources required for O&O Defrag to a minimum. O&O Defrag continues working completely unnoticed in the background. This guarantees that you can go on working without any interruption or limitations during defragmentation. Whenever your computer is no longer needed, such as during lunch, O&O ActiveGuard is able to recognize this and instruct O&O Defrag to use more resources.
Online- und Offine-Defragmentierung
O&O Defrag is able to run both online as well as offine defragmentation: - online meaning that the defragmentation is running in the background while the system is in operation. In this mode you can continue working as usual. Some system fles, however, are blocked while the operating system is running. Files like these can only be defragmented when they are no longer being blocked by the operating system. This is only possible before logon during the start phase of Windows. Since there is no operating system process enabled at this time, and you as a user cannot start any applications, this phase is called offine defragmentation ( also referred to as Boottime defragmentation).
O&O ActivityGuard Pro
Controls the system load caused by defragmentation and automatically adapts it to the current status. This allows you to go on working without being disturbed while defragmentation is running in the background. This is especially helpful if you don’t know when the computer is available for defragmentation. Thanks to O&O ActiveGuard Pro, you no longer have to think about this. The recommended O&O AutoSense method determines, periodically and automatically, the optimal level of capacity.
Automatic job execution
A periodic defragmentation is the key for maintaining a maximum performance level. There’s no longer any need for running a manual defragmentation every time. O&O Defrag offers a clever scheduling feature which does the job for you. The automatic scheduling determines the best moment for the next defragmentation based on heuristic methods. You’ll be able to create jobs, change them, or delete them. If a job isn’t needed at the moment, but you don’t want to delete it, it can be disabled. The job will not be run until you enable it again.
